Get Rid of Pimples on Your Back
Just like we get pimples on our face, pimples form on our body. Your pores get clogged because dead skin cells and oil mix together and clog your pores – which then leads to acne. Anywhere you have hair follicles and sebaceous glands are prime candidates for acne breakouts. Although body acne can be difficult to control for a number of reasons, it can be done with a few simple steps. Additionally, the clothes you wear trap oil on your body which does not solve the problem.
So, you should clean properly first. Good hygiene can help fight acne, but that doesn’t mean you have bad hygiene if you have acne problems. Cleanse daily – Wash your face twice a day and your body once a day. Don’t overdo it. However, if you sweat profusely, such as when playing sports or due to chronic stress, you may need to remove this excess sweat, dirt, and oil that isn’t on your skin. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser that suits your skin type.
After that, you need to exfoliate regularly. Your body goes through a natural exfoliation process and this process takes about 30 days. However, it depends on a few things: our age and our skin type. The older we get, the longer it takes for our skin to exfoliate itself. And, depending on the skin type, we can face even more problems. For example, if you have oily skin, this oil will mix with the dead skin making it “sticky”. Once the cells become sticky, they are not easily removed and cause clogged pores and acne breakouts. Hence, manual exfoliation is a must!
Foods have not been scientifically proven to contribute to acne, but if you notice a tendency to break out after eating certain foods, you can limit those foods. Dairy seems to be a problem for me. If I eat too much of it, I tend to break out. It’s a coincidence, maybe. But, I just try to limit my dairy intake and my skin is responding well. In addition to not eating foods that cause problems, it’s important to eat foods that help your problems. Eat foods high in antioxidants such as fruits and vegetables.
Hydration is also important. If we do not hydrate our body with water, we cannot cleanse it. If you don’t usually drink enough water, try adding another glass or two each day until it becomes more of a habit. Take slow, easy steps until it becomes more natural to you.
Finally, not only will cleansing and exfoliating help your acne breakouts, you can also try a topical benzoyl peroxide cream. BP is very effective (and cheap, I might add) for treating body acne. Many people with acne problems find that if they clean, exfoliate, and use a benzoyl peroxide topical cream, it is enough to solve their problem. The trick is to be consistent with your skin care regimen and not overdo it. Be patient and you will soon feel the difference. Good luck!
