Street Hypnosis Safety – Part Three
Protect your camera man
Another safety issue to consider is protecting your camera man. Street hypnosis usually has a camera man for safety and to capture the fun of the document! See your cameraman. Your cameraman intends to film you and you may not be aware of everything around you. It’s a good idea to get one of the orange safety vests for your cameraman. For extra credit, put a patch on the back that says “Camera 2” or something like that. This will increase the validity of your operation and keep your camera man safe. After all, if the camera is “two”, you must be doing something important, right? An orange vest draws more attention to you and what you’re doing, so there are plenty of good reasons to wear an orange vest.
A hypnotic hangover can sometimes occur when a subject comes out of hypnosis too quickly. How soon is too soon? It depends. If you’ve never had a subject or client experience a hypnotic hangover, you will. So what does a hypnotic hangover look like? A person with a hypnotic hangover will complain of a headache or nausea, feeling “still hypnotized.” The good news is that getting rid of a hypnosis hangover is really easy. The hypnotist looks like a hero in this situation. Just hypnotize the person again and this time slowly let the person out. If you brought up the topic last time on a count of 1-3, count 1-5 or count 1-10 with lots of suggestions of good health and well-being and clear headedness and your topic will come. Feels so good. And when the subject opens his/her eyes, say, “And see how good you feel,” don’t say, “How do you feel?” Tell the person that he or she feels good and the person will! Your subject will respond. , “Yes! I feel better!” This will make the hypnotist feel like a miracle worker. He just got rid of the headache. Of course, he’s the one who caused it, but the episode will be forgotten!
During street hypnosis, be careful when working with anyone who has any conditions that could cause injury. Shock induction should never be performed on a pregnant woman or any person who is physically weak. A mild Ellman induction may be appropriate, but in general, it is best to work only with healthy, strong subjects who will not be harmed by induction or subsequent skits.
In all the instant inductions I’ve done, in all the street inductions I’ve done, and I’ve done more, I’ve never had this happen. I have never been in a hypnotic coma unless I intended to be in a hypnotic coma. But, theoretically it is possible. There is a 1 in 10,000 chance that this will happen to you, that someone will spontaneously go into a hypnotic coma in an esdile state, but I want to know what you should do.
Hypnotic coma or ecstasy is the deepest stage of hypnosis. A subject in the Esdaile state will not follow your instructions. When you try to make them rise, they won’t rise. The reason? The state of Esdaile feels so good that the subject wants to stop there. It is a state of absolute bliss! So what can you do? There’s this woman standing next to you and her friends are around and she doesn’t say anything, doesn’t do anything, just giggles. Well, the first thing that will happen is that her friends will start talking about calling an ambulance to take her to the emergency room, which is absolutely not necessary.
How to get her out? The first thing is to make sure she’s in a hypnotic coma, so ask her. Say, “I just counted from 1 to 5 and I noticed you didn’t open your eyes like I told you to, why didn’t you?” If she says, “Oh, I didn’t want to,” or “I felt really good.”, you don’t have a hypnotic coma. A comatose subject will not talk to you. So if she speaks, you have a choice. You can say, “Okay, I can make you stand here and you can continue to enjoy it while I work with other people,” or “I’m going to make you come out of hypnosis.” Be strong and it will emerge. If she’s not talking to you, make sure she’s not asleep.
This happens especially late in the evening. Give her a little push and ask her to wake up and if she wakes up, she is not in a coma. If she’s still there and doesn’t say anything and doesn’t do anything, she might be in a coma. Dave Ellman used this method in the 1920s. It is called coma risk. Say, “I know you feel better, but you need to come out now. And if you don’t come out now while I count to 5, I’m going to make sure you never get hypnotized again. I’m on you.” The hypnotic is about to stamp.” Be very consistent. “I’ll do it and you’ll never be hypnotized again.” And then count and the person will come out of coma. Your subject will surely be revealed because the risk of never being in that wonderful state again is too great! Those of us who have been in a coma understand!
