Why won’t my ex boyfriend talk to me?

It can feel very frustrating and painful when your ex-boyfriend doesn’t even take your calls or reply to your messages! If you wanted him back you would have begged him to come back to you and promised to change your ways… and if he had already started seeing someone else you would probably have tried to break up. So first I want to give you 3 tips to help you get your ex to talk to you so you can work on building a relationship with him again.

1) Be honest with yourself – Put yourself in your ex’s shoes

You should honestly ask yourself “Why is my ex not talking to me?” How have you been in the eyes of your ex since your breakup? Are you constantly calling him…one minute begging him to come back and the next, angry and yelling or crying etc. Put yourself in his shoes and try to imagine how he sees you… and stop any of these negative behaviors now or you risk looking immature or desperate. He may feel that he is being beaten by you. Please don’t be upset because these are of course normal human reactions that we all go through… but at this point it is very important that you swallow your pride and be firm if you want to get back with your ex. boyfriend

2) Keep things civil and polite

The next time you see him in town or at college, smile and say “hello”, ask how he is, and then leave it at that and do your own thing. Always seen busy or visiting a friend. At this point I would recommend you take up a new, enjoyable activity – whether it’s learning to dance salsa, or drawing, making jewelry, or a new sport…anything that keeps you busy and makes you happy. .

3) Do the unexpected

If you’re trying to talk to your ex, stop calling him multiple times a day (or just once a day)… in fact don’t call unless you have no reason to call (begging him to talk to you counts as a reason). Stay off the phone for at least a week and then call to say you’re thinking of him and wondering if he’s okay… just keep it simple. If you feel more comfortable, you can send him a brief note instead (post it – it shows more effort than a text or email).

If he starts getting suspicious about why you actually called, reassure him that you called because you missed him and to check that he’s okay because you still care about him (don’t say anything stronger at this point). Be strong and end the call on a good note.

You will succeed in changing your behavior from negative to positive and he will start to wonder what is going on… and get curious!
