Dark Souls 2 What Happens When You Die Dark Souls III – Should You Play It?

You are searching about Dark Souls 2 What Happens When You Die, today we will share with you article about Dark Souls 2 What Happens When You Die was compiled and edited by our team from many sources on the internet. Hope this article on the topic Dark Souls 2 What Happens When You Die is useful to you.

Dark Souls III – Should You Play It?

First, I got platinum on both Scholar of the First Sin and Dark Souls 3. Okay, that last part is false. I still need Master of Miracles for Dark Souls 3 (grinding Concord Keeps from Silver Knights in Honor Londo…) but even so, I’ve been through both games more times than I can count.

So how hard is it? average. Dark Souls has this tough reputation, but I don’t think so. Yes, the enemies hit hard. But you do too.

There are no “bullet sponges” here. They kill you for half your health bar? Guess what, you can hit them back almost as well. You’ll die a lot, and unlike many other games, there’s not a very generous checkpoint system.

But know this: my son (with some sunbrows from me) lost Dark Souls 2 – including DLC - when he was 11. He just finished Dark Souls 3 last weekend. He is 13 years old.

That said, after pouring hundreds of hours into Dark Souls 3, here’s my brief review.

Let’s start with the negatives first:

The poise system is designed incorrectly (last I checked, there is a belief in the community that the poise system doesn’t actually work at all. There is code in the game that would allow a functional poise system, but it was removed or ‘switched off’ before release. Did. As far as I know the developers deny it, which is fine. But then that means they handled the mechanic really, really poorly.)

“It’s working as intended.” Then you intended it to work badly…

What is Poise and why is it important?

Every time you hit an enemy, depending on their poise and your weapon, you have a chance to hinder their movement (dodging, running, rolling, and most importantly – attacking.)

This is called stagnation. The movement is interrupted and they are hit. A stunned enemy is a helpless enemy. A dead enemy.

This system applies to you as well as enemies in the game.

How Poise Works: In the previous Dark Souls games you could wear armor that would increase your buff, making it harder to stun you and interrupt your attacks.

How it works now: It doesn’t. Any enemy can interrupt any attack with any weapon you use.

At first it doesn’t seem so bad, until you make Dark Souls 3’s second mistake – and possibly my biggest complaint about the game.

Every enemy attacks faster (and has longer reach) than you can, no matter what weapon you use. They have a sword the size of a house? Can launch an attack faster than you can stab with a dagger. Their dagger? Will hit you when your sword is blowing air in front of their face.

So, if you’re the type of player who likes to trade hits with enemies… you’ll always be stunned.

Now your only option is to walk away from everything, all the time. And that’s okay. If it’s a playstyle, you want to choose it. People have been doing just that since Demon Soul. But there was always a choice.

I love being a fast rolling ninja. But there are times when I get sick and tired of this game crap and just want to throw on some heavy armor, whip out a flaming Ultra Greatsword, and go to town!

In the past, you could choose heavy armor, a great sword, and exchange hits with the enemy. Yes, it will hurt you, but you will hurt them more. A perfectly viable playstyle that no longer works.

and fines. This is how the game is supposedly designed. But Dark Souls claims to have such a deep combat system? I don’t think that’s true in this installment.

For a game that is heavily based on combat… this is a huge step backwards.

Another complaint:

contract system. It’s not a big deal if you’re not a trophy hunter. It’s entirely possible to play the game all the way through and enjoy it without ever messing with the majority of contracts.

But what if you’re after the platinum trophy? Get ready to grind. a lot Because the multiplayer system has been improved compared to past games, there are still some broken contracts that require sitting around waiting to be summoned or grinding. Expect an average of 6 hours killing the same enemy over and over again…

(I’m looking at you Blades of the Darkmoon…)

OK, so what’s good?

Pretty much everything else.

The environment is beautiful and fun to explore. I can’t think of a single area where I came in and went “UGH. This again.” (In the first Dark Souls, I found everything after Sen’s castle cheap and annoying.)

Weapons and armor, everything looks really amazing.

There is a lot of enemy variation and they make sense for the environment in which they are found.

Multiplayer is always open to opinion. I think it’s fairly balanced if you play smart. Others will disagree. If you’re a whiner and don’t like racking up numbers when you attack, you won’t be happy with how Dark Souls 3 handles things.

Matchmaking is greatly improved. This time you can easily cooperate with your friends thanks to password matchmaking.

Finally, one of my favorite improvements: for the first time, all armor sets are useful! You no longer need to upgrade them. And they are all efficient. Most of the weapons are also viable.

The developers have given you an incredible arsenal to choose from and it all works. Even poor weapons are enough to handle the game’s enemies.

Bottom line: Is it fun? yes Is it disappointing? some times. Is it worth buying? yes Are there other games like this that are good? No.

Am I mad at the developers? A little bit!

If I had to score it, I’d start with a 10 for all the amazing things this game deserves. Then I’ll take off 3 points for broken combat and settle for around 7. Yes, there is a lot to this game. But you have to put up with some unnecessary (in my opinion) frustration to enjoy it.

Fix Poise guys!
