How to Create a Cardboard Textured Business Card in Adobe Photoshop
Business cards are valuable tools in today’s society. But how can you make your business cards stand out from the rest? One simple idea is to print your business card on a variety of materials, such as cardboard, leather, and even metal.
Although this is easy, some people may not have the money to print their cards on expensive products. For this reason, using faux color designs can be a cost-effective alternative to heavy, expensive cards.
To save a lot of money, all business owners out there can create your own business cards using this tutorial. This tutorial shows how to create a business card in Photoshop that looks like an inexpensive paper card. In this way, white cards are always what is needed.
This tutorial also shows how to create a business card that looks like it was printed on cardboard.
Part 1
Open Adobe Photoshop on your computer and start a new document with the settings set to a width of 14 inches, a height of 8 inches, and a resolution of 72. It is better to create at a larger scale to make it clearer. it has been completed and is ready for publication.

Select all and fill the entire area with the color #AAA494 or a shade of gray close to that color. After that, save all the selections and apply the cloud filter to the scene. You can do this by going to the dropdown menu, Filter > Render > Clouds. Make sure there is enough contrast or adjust the brightness/contrast until it looks natural enough.

Apply some texture by choosing Filters > Noise > Add Noise with 4 settings / Gaussian / Monochromatic.

Go to Filter>Blur>Motion blur, with the Angle set to 90 degrees and the Distance to 8. Using this feature will give your business card the look of recycled cardboard that looks like it has paper fibers. Paper fibers are usually woven vertically or horizontally.

Add a Color Layer to your contact template. Go to Layer > Layer Style > Color Overlay to do this. When the setting box appears, set the Color to #7b6d52 which is the color of the brown paper. Change the blending mode to Color and Transparency to 100%.

Then apply the Pattern Overlay Layer style to the business card template. To do this, go to Layer > Layer Style > Pattern Overlay. With the settings box open, change the Blend Mode to Soft Light and make the Opacity 75 percent.
Choose between thread 1 & 2 from the gray paper, this will add a business card look. Set the Scale to 100 and check the ‘Link to Layer’ box. Adjust the visual appearance to be as natural as possible; about 85 percent opacity is good.

To make the card look like a tri-fold you will apply a Bevel and Emboss layer. Go to Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss. With the setup box open, set Bevel to Inner Bevel; set the path to Smooth; set Depth to 100%; establish the Way to Heaven; set Size to 1; and set Soft to 0%. In the Shading options, set the Angle to 120 degrees and check Use Global Light; set Altitude to 30 degrees and use Gloss Contour; set the Appearance to Screen and set the brightness to 75% and the Shadow set to Maximize. Opacity should be set to 30%.

The next step is to create a new layer and add flecks to your credit card. Flecks will make the design look natural. To do this, click Layer > Layer Style > Pattern Overlay. With the settings box open, set the Style to Normal Blending Mode and set the Visibility to 100. Select the Charcoal Flecks pattern from the Greyscale Paper.

The following section will help to show the charcoal results. To do this, create another layer and fill the layer with black. Adjust the layer styles by right-clicking on the image and selecting Create Layers. If you change the style from the group, you can also delete the layer filled with black, leaving the newly created layer to work with. This will fill the layer with the Charcoal Flecks shape.

Now we want to enlarge the layer so that the flecks appear larger. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+T and dragging/expanding the layer until you achieve the desired effect. Adjust the layer levels to increase the contrast. To do this, drag the middle slider to the right and the right slider to the left until the background is white and the spots are clearly visible. Next, change the Fill Opacity of the layer to about 60% and change the Blend mode to more.

This is a repeat of Steps 9 and 10 but we’re making it white this time, to add contrast and texture. A quick and easy way to do this is to duplicate the Charcoal Flecks layer, Adjust the colors and set the texture to Overlay. So instead of black darkness you have white white. Then you need to turn the layer around and vertically so that the direction and distribution of the white flecks are not the same as the dark ones.

To test the embossed look, write the words you want to add to the calling card and apply the Bevel and Emboss style afterwards. Set the Emboss style and set the Technique to Chisel Soft.
Change the Depth to 100%. Direction should be set Down and angle should be 120 degrees. Checkmark Use Global Brightness and Altitude should be 30 degrees. Use Linear Gloss Contour. Highlight Mode should be set to Screen. The Shadow Mode should be set to Multiply and Opacity should both be 75%.
To create a shape on a business card that looks like it’s pressed with letters, just create the shape you want and create a path and set the ‘stroke path’ to any color you want. Change the layout afterwards and then do the same Bevel and Emboss style as we did with the original style.
Section 13
For additional details, add a red border to the bottom half of the contact card. To create a border just create a new layer, select about an inch and fill it with color. You can use the paint bucket to paint the selected area and set the layer shape to Increase and Opacity to 75%.

Finally, you can put some text on the red border to make things look better.
