Do Nothing Accomplish Everything – Consciousness and a Golden Age

When Maharishi Mahesh Yogi died in 2008 at the age of 91, there was little fanfare–a brief obituary and a few newspaper items about the Beatles’ visit to India in 1968. In fact, the Beatles grabbed the headlines whenever Maharishi’s name came up in the press. . Yet this humble pandit, who introduced a unique form of meditation to the West, changed the lives of millions of people around the world, from the ashram to the boardroom.
Little Monk – heart like a lion
A disciple of the 20th century Indian saint Brahmananda Saraswati in the Shankaracharya tradition, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a spiritual teacher with a Masters in Physics. He started the spiritual rebirth movement in 1957. Realizing that the label would not have the same appeal in Western culture, he changed his name and began teaching the techniques he had learned from his guru using specific Indian mantras. Unless you lived in a cave in the mid-20th century, chances are you’re familiar with this meditation.
Educated in science, Maharishi concluded that our decisions and actions are directly related to the physiology and bio-chemistry of the body as well as the nervous system of the brain or nervous system. Through observation and experimentation, he demonstrated how meditation affects the mind and body by lowering blood pressure, reducing ADHD, and various other physical, social, and emotional disorders. Dr. Deepak Chopra was one of Maharishi’s early supporters in the United States.

Advaita and Yogastha Kuru Karmani
Roughly translated, the above Sanskrit phrase from the holy Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita, means “to exist, act.” The story told in the Gita is a metaphor for every human being. The scenario is a battlefield where Prince Arjuna is morally confused about whether he should fight and kill his own relatives. Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, “This body is a battlefield.” War is a struggle that all spiritual aspirants experience as they face the consequences of their actions. In other words, life is a constant struggle while living in the world of duality or ignorance.
In the realm of higher consciousness or cosmic consciousness, the teachings of the Maharishi never approached meditation spiritually. Yogastha is as close as Kuru Karmani. Suppose, if you somehow continue to meditate, you will become self-aware and live a life of union with yourself. But what does it all mean? Maharishi’s “Do nothing, do everything” is not you doer. Yet many people say that they have practiced various forms of meditation for decades and have yet to attain the state of self-realization.
“The Power of Now”
In his book “The Power of Now,” in seminars and videos, modern-day spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle describes nondualism as “being present.” When we are fully present, in that moment, without the interference of the ‘egoic’ mind, whatever decisions or actions we take are right because we are not. doer. Therefore, when a person is fully present, he is living in a state of union with God.

A golden age

There are stories of people living in caves in India for decades until they realized God. 2,500 years ago Buddha For six years he sat under a Bodhi (fig) tree and struggled unceasingly until he attained enlightenment. While some may be, most 21st century aspirants are not suited for that role. Yet many have studied in the presence of teachers who have lived and experienced for decades and are still searching for the “brass ring”.
Perhaps the Earth is older than scientists think. or not. Was there once a golden age when all humans lived with love and respect for one another? Could it be that times have become so good that people have become careless and forgotten the importance of vigilance?
Today is one Urgency to develop. A growing consciousness demands it. No one gives you knowledge. It is neither earned by good deeds nor withheld by bad deeds. Everything happens automatically according to the law of nature. Consciousness does not make mistakes.
