Pollution is the process of making land, water and air dirty and unsafe and unfit for consumption. Pollution is increasing day by day at an alarming rate with the increase in world population. There are mainly three types of pollution: air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution. We will discuss the issues related to them.

Air Pollution Air is mainly composed of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and oxygen. About 99% of air is made up of nitrogen, oxygen and inert gases. CFCs which are commonly found in refrigerator compressors are primarily responsible for ozone layer depletion. The ozone layer is made up of O 3 and whenever CFCs are exposed, a reaction occurs between the O 3 and CFCs that breaks down the O 3 layer and causes it to degrade. Now it has a very harmful effect on the human being causing skin diseases and many other such problems, because the harmful rays of sunlight directly hit the human body. A recent study revealed that nearly 2 million people die every year due to air pollution. This amount is very alarming.

Soil pollution or land pollution refers to the condition where garbage and industrial waste are dumped without proper recycling. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, Americans produce about 250 tons of trash, and only 34% of that is recycled and the rest is sent to landfills. Especially in developing countries where there is no proper waste disposal system, it actually leads to life-threatening diseases e.g. Measles and diarrhea. Littering on the ground is very conducive to the spread of bacteria, viruses and fungi that cause many diseases. Waste should be recycled and handled properly to protect the land from pollution.

Water pollution occurs when different substances from different sources mix or enter water such as different chemicals, sewage, certain metals such as lead and mercury; Fertilizers and water pollution from agriculture are the main factors. Water pollution is a worldwide problem. According to the United Nations, 783 million people do not have access to clean water and about 2.5 billion lack proper sanitation. This pollution has a serious impact on marine life. Water is very essential for life. Life cannot exist without water. The human body consists of 70% water. By knowing this important information, we understand that water should not be polluted because polluted water causes many diseases like diarrhea, constipation. Polluted water not only causes human diseases but also makes marine life difficult.
