Four Super Tips for Managing Your Precious Time
Each day is 86,400 seconds. Every second counts. Every second that passes is a part of the past and cannot be taken back. All people get only 86,400 seconds a day. So why do some people benefit more than others? The key is to manage time and use every second in the right way. Below are four top tips for making the most of your precious time.
Top Tip #1: Wake up early
If you think you don’t have time to do what you love or work towards your dreams and goals, start thinking about getting up early. If you wake up at 7 o’clock to go to work, start by waking up at 6 o’clock in the morning. By waking up 1 hour earlier every day, you add 365 hours to your annual schedule to do the things you thought you’d never get a chance to do. Rumi says: “The morning breeze has a secret to tell you.” So, say no to Early Morning Wakeup Calls!
Top Tip #2: Have a TV feed
How many hours a day do you spend watching TV? If more than two hours, then you better consider TV diet! TV is a power drain. All these movies, games, and videos are ways to make you a vegetarian. Not only do they waste your energy and take up your precious time, but they also don’t allow you to focus on what’s right. When you binge on TV, you’ll find that you can spend more time with yourself, your family, or your dreams.
Top Tip #3: Use your time in the car wisely
How much time do you spend in your car every day? According to a 2001 study by the Center for Transportation Analysis, the average time spent in a car was one hour a day. If anything, almost every one of us spends 365 hours each year in a car. How do you spend your time in the car while driving? Thinking? Talking on your phone? Listening to the radio/music?
My advice to you is to use your time in the car wisely. If you don’t have time to read books, you can listen to audio books in your car and learn new things. You can listen to motivational speakers and be inspired. This way you spend your time in the car in a more productive way. If you don’t believe me, try it!
Top Tip #4: Be productive
Being productive means having the quality or power to produce and produce results. It means doing well by doing more in less time. What can you do to increase the downtime? By focusing on what you have to do and spending less time. For this reason, you need to eliminate distractions and noise. What distractions? Answering emails, checking Facebook and Twitter, doing 10 different things at once, answering phone calls, eating, watching TV, surfing the web, socializing, and more. By eliminating such distractions you can use your time more efficiently, complete your real tasks faster and thus be more productive.
