People are more likely to click on voice ads than ads. Since no images are used, advertisers write catchy words to attract visitors’ attention. The ad does not exceed 5 sentences, which keeps visitors interested and clicks are more likely if they want to read more. Pay Per Click ads are usually classified ads.

2. Banner Ads:

Banner Ads have been around for a long time. Banners are usually 468×60 pixel embedded (linked to your website) images that highlight your products/services/offers that appear at the top of business pages. Banner ads are usually sold on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) or click-through basis, i.e. you pay only when they are clicked. There are different ways to send ads. One option is banner exchange where you can display someone else’s banner in exchange for their display of yours. You can also pay a publisher to display your banner or you can pay a banner network to print your banner on different websites. With the increasing number of advertisements these days, people are trying different ways to attract the attention of visitors. The more you create, the greater the chance that your banner will be noticed.

3. Pop-Up Ads:

This can be the most annoying and avoidable form of online advertising. It works when another website opens a new window displaying an ad. Pop-up ads are not given much preference by most pop-up blockers available. So they are not very popular with advertisers or tourists.

4. Side Ads:

Side ads also called skyscraper ads are similar to ads but are placed vertically rather than horizontally. Sidebar ads can be up to 600 pixels high and usually 160 pixels wide. Side ads have an advantage over ads because they are bigger and you can’t move side ads like ads. Sidebar ads have a click-through rate of 1 percent (10 clicks per 1,000 views) or about two to three times more than banner ads.

5. Floating Ads:

Floating ads are ads that appear when you visit a website and fly or float on the website for 5 to 30 seconds. When they appear on the screen, they often obscure your view of the website. Floating ads appear every time the page is refreshed. One of the main reasons for the popularity of floating sales is because of their appeal. Another reason is that, they are inevitable and prove to be more powerful than advertisements or side ads. Floating ads have a high click-through rate of about 3 percent (ie 30 people click for every 1,000 impressions of a floating ad). The drawback of floating sales however is that it can really annoy visitors. The thing is, the more they get used to it, the more common it will be.

6. Unicast Marketing:

Unicast advertising is popular and widely accepted these days. Unicast advertising is a TV commercial that runs in a pop-up window. Enriched audio/video can last anywhere from 10-30 seconds. Unicast ads have a 5% click rate (50 clicks per 1,000 impressions). Being able to click on the ad for more information makes these ads even better than TV ads.

7. Central Marketing:

An interstitial (which means “between”) ads is a page that is placed between the current and destination pages. This is also known as conversion advertising. What the visitors do depends on how interesting the message is. Interstitial ads are usually designed to move automatically to the page the user requests after allowing enough time for the message to be registered or the ad to be read.

The type of advertising you should pursue often depends on the type of business and your marketing budget. Its purpose is to attract the attention of visitors and drive more traffic to your website.
